A number of Teacher trade unions have complained that they are yet to receive several essential support materials to follow the school syllabuses.

Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers’ Union, Joseph Stalin noted that shortage of support material has interrupted the learning process in the schools.

When inquired Commissioner-General of the Educational Publications Department, Jayantha Wickramanayake stated that all the printed support material books have been distributed among students. Our attempts to reach the Commissioner-General of the National Institute of Education for a comment on the matter was unsuccessful.
