The names submitted to the President by the UNP for appointment as acting Ministers in place of the Muslim Ministers who resigned recently, had been rejected by the President, a government source revealed.
Instead, the President has appointed the State Ministers and the Deputy Ministers of the relevant Ministries as acting Ministers.
