At a pre-budget conference held yesterday (4th) in Colombo under the patronage of State Minister of Finance Eran Wickramaratne, 26 businesswomen and female CEOs presented their views for the next budget.The conference, held as a joint program of state and private sector, focused attention on the issues in various sectors, especially faced, by the female entrepreneurs.
A number of issues, including tax policy for the business sector, the shortage of employees, increased benefits for employees, agriculture, tourism, and banking sectors were discussed during the meeting.
The State Minister said the introduction of state sector reforms is now a very important task. He said the views expressed by the women business leaders will be considered carefully and the attention of the government will be drawn to practically implement them.Senior Advisor to the Finance Ministry, Mano Tittawella and several others part.
