Maximum permitted transit time at Bandaranaike International Airport for any passenger transiting via BIA has been limited to 6 hours.
The Director-General of Civil Aviation has informed all online and offline carriers that acceptance of any passenger desiring to transit via BIA should strictly be on the basis that the concerned passenger has a confirmed onward Connection out of BIA to an onward destination.
