MP Udaya Gammanpila and Secretary of Ministry of Highways Sunil Hettiarachchi are scheduled to appear as witnesses before the Presidential Commission of inquiry to probe corruption and fraud in Government institutions today. (25 July)
MP Udaya Gammanpila was called in before the commission regarding the allegations of Rishad Bathiudeen illegally acquiring land in the district of Mannar.
The former Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Sunil Hettiarachchi was called in before the commission to provide evidence on the case of including a photograph of Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam in school textbooks, stated a spokesman of the commission.
