Two ships ‘Kaga’ and ‘Inazuma’ arrives in Colombo

Two ships  ‘Kaga’ and ‘Inazuma’ belonging to the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) arrived at the port of Colombo on a goodwill visit today (30th September), stated the Navy. The vessels were received by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions upon their arrival.

‘Kaga’ is a 248m long vessel with a displacement of 19,950 tons. Its crew is consisted of 400 naval personnel. Meanwhile ‘Inazuma’ is 151m in length with a displacement of 4,550 tons. It is manned by a crew of 170. The crew members of the two vessels which are on a 05-day official tour to Sri Lanka, will take part in a wide range of sporting and several other programmes organized by the Sri Lanka Navy during their stay. The ships are due to commence their remaining sailing itinerary from Colombo on 04th October.
