On the apparent southward relative motion of the sun, it is going to be directly over the latitudes of Sri Lanka during 28th of August to 07th of September in this year, stated the Meteorology Department.
The nearest town of Sri Lanka over which the sun is overhead today (07th) is Dondra about 12.08 noon.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces. Several spells of showers will occur in Western and North-western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva province and in Batticaloa and Ampara districts particularly in the evening or night.
Mainly fair weather will prevail elsewhere.
