Three arrested with foreign currency worth Rs. 48 million at BIA

An Indian (40) and two Sri Lankans (40 and 45) were apprehended with foreign currency worth Rs. 48 million by the Bandaranaike International Airport Customs, earlier today. The suspects were arrested while attempting to smuggle out the currency to Singapore.

The nabbed foreign currency consists of Euro 153,250, US$ 52,950, Saudi Riyals 264,000 and Qatar Riyal 18500. Further investigations are underway.
