The Stock of Heroin seized in Negombo worth over 1 Billion: PNB

Police Narcotics Bureau on Friday said that the 99.5 kilograms of Heroin discovered from a freight container with cargo as potatoes worth over 1 billion rupees and arrested seven people including a Pakistani national.

The stock was seized yesterday, during a raid carried out in Kochchikade, Negombo, in a freight container imported from Pakistan.

The drugs were found by the Police Narcotics Bureau officials when they were carefully packed as potatoes and seven suspects including, a Pakistani national were arrested, during the raid.

According to the Police Narcotics Bureau, the cargo had been imported by a businessman in Dehiwala, and a Pakistani national had come to Sri Lanka to coordinate the racket.

Further investigations regarding the Heroin racket are underway headed by the Police Narcotics Bureau.
