The number of Covid-19 recoveries exceeded the 200,000 mark in Sri Lanka (201,389) with 1,996 patients recovering yesterday, the Health Ministry stated last night. The total number of COVID-19 cases stood around 239,000 yesterday evening and 35,000 patients out of them were still receiving treatment at hospitals and Intermediate Care Centres (ICCs). The COVID-19 death toll had passed 2,530. The COVID third wave caused around 100,000 infections.
