Temperature around the country has risen by 2-3°C – Met department

According to the Department of Meteorology, the temperature in many parts of the island has risen by about 2 to 3 °C than normal.

During the last 24 hours, the highest temperature on the island (37.3 °C) was recorded in the Kurunegala area. The Department of Meteorology further states that the temperature in Kurunegala is 3°C higher than normal.

A rise in temperature of about 2 to 3 °C. was recorded from the areas of Ratnapura and Vavuniya. According to the Department of Meteorology, temperatures of 36.8 and 35.3 were recorded in the Ratnapura and Vavuniya areas.
