Sri Lanka has begun to administer the COVID vaccine to pregnant mothers

Sri Lanka began rolling out of the Chinese-made Sinopharm vaccine to pregnant mothers this morning.

The national program was launched by the Piliyandala MOH area today.

The pregnant mothers will be given priority in vaccination.

Accordingly, healthy pregnant mothers will not be vaccinated in the first stage and the pregnant mothers with complications will be vaccinated under the first phase of the programme depending on the frequency of vaccination.
