The police states that a special security plan will be in effect in Anuradhapura and Mihintale for Poson Poya.
Police media spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara said that over 4000 police officers have been deployed for the purpose. Officers of the Tri-Forces and the Civil Security Force will also be deployed.
He further urges the devotees arriving at Anuradhapura and Mihinthale to refrain from bathing in unprotected places.
