A march of the war heroes commenced from Medawachchiya, Anuradhapura today(May 29). The march is held under the auspices of Commander of Sri Lanka Army Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake. The march will reach Independence Square in Colombo on June 8th.
Seventy-eight Sri Lanka Army officers and 600 soldiers will join the march.
Lt. General Mahesh Senanayke, Commander Sri Lanka Army shared his thoughts at the event. He noted that with the march it shows the unparalleled strength of the Sri Lanka Army.
He added that march also intends to commemorate the 10th year anniversary following the 30 year ethnic conflict in Sri Lanka.
