Six Indians taken into custody while attempting to smuggle gold worth over Rs. 5 mn

Six Indian nationals were taken into custody by the Customs while attempting to smuggle gold to Chennai. According to the customs, the gold weighing 737 grams is worth over Rs. 5.8 million.

Meanwhile, a Sri Lankan national was also taken into custody by the Customs for attempting to smuggle foreign currency to Singapore. He was in possession of US$ 22,000, which in Sri Lankan value is close to Rs. 4 million.
