Sindurala returns home

Sri Lanka Navy Ship ‘Sindurala’ arrived home after a successful journey to Australia on Monday (24 September). The ship left from Trincomalee last month (20 August) to take part in the naval exercise ‘KAKADU 2018’ in Australia.

The ship was accorded a traditional welcome upon her return to home port in Colombo.According to Navy media, ‘Sindurala’ has completed the longest sea passage for a naval exercise of the Sri Lanka Navy, having covered a distance of 6,646 nautical miles of a sea journey.The Royal Australian Navy’s biennial exercise, ‘KAKADU 2018’ which commenced on 30th August ended on the 16th (September). Exercise maneuvers were conducted along the coastal areas of Darwin.
