Showery conditions are expected to increase in a number of locations

Temporary enhancement of showery condition over South-western part of the island is likely during today and tomorrow (08 and 09), stated the Meteorology Department.

Showers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Galle, Matara, Nuwara-Eliya and Kandy districts. Several spells of showers will occur in Mannar district.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in Uva and Eastern provinces during the evening or night.

Heavy falls above 100 mm can be expected at some places in Galle, Matara, Kaluthara and Rathnapura districts. Fairly heavy falls above 75 mm can be expected at some places in North-western province and in Colombo, Gampaha, Kegalle, Nuwara-Eliya and Kandy districts.

Wind speed can increase up to (30-40) kmph at times in Western slope of the Central hills, Northern, North-central and North-western provinces and in Hambantota and Trincomalee districts.
