Prevailing showery condition is expected to enhance over the island during tomorrow (9th October).Showers or thundershowers will occur over most parts of the island particularly after 2.00p.m.Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in Northern, Western and Eastern provinces and in Galle, Matara and Kaluthara districts in the morning too.
Heavy falls about 100 mm can be expected at some places in the Eastern, Southern, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva and Western provinces.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Eastern, Northern and South-eastern sea areas of the island. Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the other sea areas around the island.Winds will be Westerly to North-westerly in direction and wind speed will be 30-40 kmph in the sea areas extending from Puttalam to Pottuvil via Colombo, Galle and Hambantota. This sea area can be fairly rough at times as the wind speed can increase up to 50 kmph at times.Winds will be variable in direction in the other sea areas around the island and wind speed will be 15-25 kmph.Temporarily strong gusty winds and rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.
The depression over the southeast Arabian Sea area is moving away from the country. Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Southern, Central, Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces.Showers or thundershowers will occur at some places elsewhere particularly after 2.00p.m.Heavy falls about 100 mm can be expected at some places in the Southern, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva and Western provinces.There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.
