The Department of Meteorology has issued an announcement saying that after 2.00 pm there will be scattered showers or thunderstorms in many parts of the island.
In Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Easte and Uva provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle, Matara, Mannaram and Jaffna districts, heavy rains of more than 75 mm may also occur in some places.
The weste and southe provinces and the coastal areas of Jaffna and Mannaram districts may also experience some rain in the mo ing.
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
