Selected post offices in the districts of Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, and Puttalam will resume operations on Monday, postmaster general Ranjith Ariyaratne said.

These offices, which were shut owing to COVID-19 fears, would be re-opened to engage in essential activities such as those relating to the payment of pensions.

Post offices in other districts will remain open as usual, the postmaster general added.

The districts of Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, and Puttalam, which have been identified as high risk zones for the spread of COVID-19, will be under a curfew until May 11.

Curfew in the other districts will be lifted from 5 am to 8 pm daily from Monday to Wednesday.
