A brand new scientific garden to improve the scientific knowledge of school children was declared open under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena this morning in Colombo.

This new scientific garden has been created within the premises of the Planetarium. The garden was declared open to celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of Professor A. N. S. Kulasinghe.

The garden was created as a joint venture between the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau and its subsidiary company The Central Engineering Services (Pvt) Limited.

President took the opportunity to sit on a model chair full of nails which was designed to scientifically prove the dispersion of pressure.

Sujeewa Senasinghe, Non-Cabinet Minister of Science, Technology and Research used this opportunity to evoke humour and said that President Maithripala Sirisena should keep more than one nail with him in politics.
