The Japan International Cooperation System (JICS) under its economic and social development fund program, donated airport machinery and equipment worth Rs. 300 million to the Bandaranaike International Airport yesterday (14th May).
The consignment including vehicles and other technical equipment was symbolically handed over to the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Services Nimal Siripala De Silva by the Japanese Ambassador, Kenichi Suganuma.
The consignment includes five service vehicles, two ambulances, five, Air control room VHF systems, four communicable disease detection machines, and eight liquid explosive detection machines. Deputy Minister Ashok Abeysinghe also participated on this occasion.
