President to recieve interim report on 4/21 attack

The interim report compiled by the Presidential Commission appointed to look into the April 21st terrorist attack, is due to be released this week.

 

Secretary of the Commission H.M.B.P. Herath noted that the report will be handed over to the President by Thursday. The Commission has recorded statements from 35 persons regarding the April attack. The commission received more than 65 complaints from the General public.

The Commission is being chaired by Court of Appeal Judge Janaka de Silva and also includes Court of Appeal Judge Nisshanka Bandula Karunaratne, Retired Court of Appeal Judge Nihal Sunil Rajakaruna, Retired High Court Judge Bandula Kumara Attapattu and Retired Ministry Secretary W.M.R. Adikari.

The commission was appointed on the 22nd of September by President Maithripala Sirisena.
