President inspects project initiated to compost 50 tonnes of waste in Hambantota

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa engaged in an inspection at the National Solid Waste Management Project implemented in the compost yard of the Hambantota Municipal Council.

 

This project was commenced with the support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as a solution to the waste problem in Hambantota city.

The project has the capacity to compost 50 tonnes of solid waste.

The President has advised the officials attached to the program and the contractors to complete the project within a month’s time and commence operations.
