Post Offices to open on Sept 17 and 18

Poster Master General (PMG) Ranjith Ariyaratne has informed all Post Masters and Sub Post Masters countrywide to open their Post Offices tomorrow and day after (September 17 and 18) for the payment of public allowances to senior citizens.

“All those who visit Post Offices to get their allowances have to follow the relevant health guidelines to the letter. About 550 postal employees of the Department have become COVID-19 positive as at now,” the PMG stated in a Circular.

About 50 post offices have been closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he added.
