Pharmacies, essential outlets in curfew-imposed areas open today

Pharmacies & other essential food items distribution outlets will be open in curfew-imposed areas today (09), the Police said.

The shops will accordingly remain open until 8.00 pm tonight, DIG Ajith Rohana stated.

However, only those who are residing within the walking distance to these establishments will allowed to visit, the Army Chief said adding that no vehicles will be permitted.

One person from each house will be allowed to proceed to these outlets while adhering to the Covid-19 guidelines, DIG Rohana noted.

He further stressed legal action will be sought against those who violate the regulations.

Quarantine curfew was imposed in 18 police areas in Gampaha district and Divulapitiya, Ja-Ela, Kandana and Seeduwa police areas until further notice following the re-emergence of novel coronavirus positive cases.
