Pfizer vaccines brought to Sri Lanka

Another batch of 60,000 doses of “Pfizer” vaccine manufactured in the US, brought to the country this morning, the Airport Duty Manager said. He said the consignment first reached Amsterdam in the Netherlands and later flown in by Qatar Airways, touched down at the Katunayake Airport around 2.15 am from Doha. The vaccines were packed in 12 cartons weighing 405 kg, he said. The cargo was stored at the Katunayake Airport Cargo Village freezer facility and subsequently, transferred to the State Pharmaceutical Corporation Central Warehouse in Colombo by the corporation’s freezer trucks.
