General Secretary of the JVP, Tilvin Silva noted that the 04/21 attacks were not a threat to national security but were a direct threat to public security.

He added that if the attacks were intended to invade or conquer the country, the attacks could be considered as a threat to national security.

He said that the political activists around Gotabaya Rajapaksa attempted to use the crisis for their personal political agendas stating that they would implement measures to ensure national security.

He noted that their intentions were contradictory as they invoked racism and endangered the safety of the general public.

He finally posed the question, “whether national security could be established via racism?”
