The Department of Motor Traffic has temporarily halted the issuing of driver’s licenses, other documents and services at its main office in Werahera and district offices.
The decision has been taken by the Ministry of Transport Services Management together with the Department of Motor Traffic with the aim of preventing the spread of Coronavirus by minimizing large gatherings of people.
Issuing a statement, the Department of Government Information stated that the issuing of driver’s licenses, renewals or related services has been halted at the main office of the Department of Motor Traffic in Werahera and district offices until March 31, 2020.
Accordingly all written and practical examinations which had been scheduled between March 17 and March 31 have also been cancelled, it said.
