The Department of Excise states that 24,150 islandwide raids were conducted within the past six months.
In a communique issued by the department, it explains that the raids focused on the illegal manufacture of liquor, possession of such illegally manufactured liquor, possession of distilled spirits, possession of equipment used for such purposes, illegal sale of local and foreign liquor.
The income generated to the department through these raids sums up to Rs. 68 billion.
