As per the instructions of President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, the existing inter-provincial travel restrictions currently in place were extended till 4.00 a.m. on October 31, Army Commander Shavendra Silva said.
The inter-provincial travel restrictions remained in effect despite the relaxation of the quarantine curfew which was lifted earlier.
Accordingly, it was decided to strictly enforce the inter-provincial travel restrictions which were to end after 4.00 am today. The Director General of Health Services made further amendments to the existing COVID-19 health guidelines issued to control the spread of the virus within the country recently.
