The Department of Meteorology says in a statement that the Northeast Monsoon is gradually establishing itself over the island.
It rains from time to time in North, East, Uva and North-Central provinces.
In Weste , Central and Sabaragamuwa Provinces and Galle and Matara Districts, rain or thundershowers will occur at places in the evening or at night.
Some places in North, East and Uva provinces and Polonnaruwa and Matale districts may experience heavy rains of more than 50 mm.
