The health and safety measures observed in the past three months need to be continued in the coming weeks to control the spread of COVID-19, DIG Ajith Rohana said

Legal action will be taken against violators of health guidelines under the quarantine laws and criminal laws of the country, he added.

Health guidelines such as washing hands and wearing face masks must continue, he further added.

DIG Ajith Rohana further requested the general public to continue to cooperate with the authorities, in a backdrop where some countries have faced second and third waves of the virus.
