An additional grace period has been announced for payment of expired motor fines.
As per the Postal Department, the additional relief period will be from the 11th to the 29th of May, 2020.
The decision was taken as persons who were not able to pay their fines due to the continuous curfew on Western Province and Puttalam Districts, said the Department.
As all post offices across the island will be open for public services from tomorrow (11) onwards, payment of fines will be facilitated without hindrances.
Within the grace period, fines issued on or before March 01 can be paid off without additional charges while the fines issued between February 16 and 29 can be paid including the relevant penalty charges.
