In a letter to German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Wickremesinghe said, Germany’s efforts to stem the spread of the virus “could be considered as best examples to be followed by other countries”.
He also emphasized his confidence in the German government to recover at a faster pace from the current pandemic.
Wickremesinghe, who leads the centre-right United National Party also wrote to Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg, lauding the timely action taken by the government.
