Although the Western Province continues to remain the epicentre for the spread of COVID-19 in Sri Lanka, a trend of sub-clusters forming from other provinces has been observed, Deputy Director General of Public Health Services Specialist Dr. Hemantha Herath revealed.

” Although the Western Province is a high-risk zone, sub-clusters are forming from other areas of the country. These sub-clusters are discovered when we test people from other areas. Many possible patients would have not been tested and have left the western province”, he said.

” Since this virus can spread all across Sri Lanka we recommend that health guidelines be followed constantly”, Specialist Dr. Hemantha Herath urged.
