Final report of the committee to resolve issues of electricity bills between March to May, to be submitted in cabinet today

The report of the committee to provide recommendations on granting relief for high electricity bills from March to May, will be submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers on Wednesday (July 8), Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said.

The final report of the committee was handed over to Minister of Power and Energy, Mahinda Amaraweera yesterday.

The four-member committee was appointed on 2nd July to look into issues relating to the electricity bills issued between March to May, during the quarantine curfew imposed due to COVID-19.

This measure was taken after electricity consumers filed complaints about the high price of the bills issued during the quarantine curfew period.
