Final day to submit complaints against Hizbullah, Salley and Bathiudeen

Accepting of complaints against former governors M.L.A.M. Hizbullah and Azath Salley as well as former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen, ends today(June 12).

The opportunity to submit written complaints will be made available for the last time, from 8 am to 4 pm today(June 12). The Committee appointed to accept complaints noted that they have already received 12 complaints.

Police Media Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara said that 6 complaints were lodged against former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen while 3 were against former Governor of the Western Province Azath Salley. The Police Committee added that several complaints were made by political activists.

The Committee went on to note that measures have been taken to forward the complaints to the CID for investigations. A committee was formed with three senior police officers on the 4th of June to accept complaints against the former governors and the former Minister.
