Father of Ruhuna Uni student tests COVID-19 positive

The father of a student at the University of Ruhuna has been confirmed to have contracted the novel coronavirus, COVID-19.

Accordingly, the student, along with her roommate at a hostel in Kapugama, Dewundara, have been directed for quarantine.

Reportedly, the father and her mother had visited the student at her hostel on September 27 and October 03, respectively.

The father has been identified to be an employee of a private company in Kandana. The mother is reported to have tested negative for the virus.

Meanwhile, a hostel-mate of the first student to have contracted COVID-19 from the University of Sri Jayawardenepura has also tested positive for the virus.

An employee of an apparel factory in Pugoda, Dompe has tested COVID-19 positive, stated the Dompe Administrative Public Health Inspector W. A. Bandaranayaka.
