Education Ministry to create new regulations to monitor international schools

The Ministry of Education has decided to implement a program to monitor international schools.

 

Additional Secretary of the Ministry R.M.M. Rathnayake noted that none of the international schools in the country come under the supervision of the Ministry fo education. He added that due to this the ministry cannot look into the curriculum being taught, the pressure on students as well as the discipline of students.

The ministry also notes that there are concerns regarding the qualifications of teachers at international schools. Rathnayake noted that the ministry will take steps in order to monitor international schools due to this reason.
