The Director General of Health Services, Dr. Anil Jasinghe has issued guidelines for cinema halls with regard to resuming screenings.
The instructions were published in response to the request made by the Secretary to the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Cultural and Religious Affairs Mr. Bandula Harischandra.
“The COVID-19 epidemic is now under control. It is imperative to establish a systematic program for cinema halls among the steps taken to prevent the re-emergence of COVID-19 epidemic,” Dr. Jasinghe has said.
The guidelines are published in the official website of the Ministry of Health and Indigenous Medical Services, the statement read.
Although the focus is on opening cinema halls on June 27, Cinema Halls should be opened only by adhering to these guidelines.
The cinema halls can be opened only after handing over the declaration of consent completed by the head of the hall administration to the Public Health Inspector of the area, ensuring that each cinema hall adheres to the health guidelines provided.
A copy of the same should be furnished to the respective local authorities.
