Case against Nalaka Godahewa to be taken up in February 2019

The evidence examination in the case filed against Dr. Nalaka Godahewa, the Former Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission and two others will commence on the 05th of February. The order was made by Colombo High Court Judge Sashi Mahendran.

The three accused were indicted on three counts under the Public Property Act.

The Attorney General maintained the three accused conspired to misappropriate Rs. 5 million granted as a sponsor to the Tharunyata Hetak Organisation by the SEC and the money had been transferred to a bank account belonging to the Ceylon Premium Sports Limited.

The other accused are former SEC Deputy Director-General Dhammika Perera and Tharunyata Hetak Organisation Sports Director Ronnie Ibrahim.
