An engineer who built mosques for Zahran Hashmi had been arrested from the Kaduwana area in Dehiwala.
Police stated that the suspect was arrested following investigations based on a tip-off.
The suspect Zahir Nasurdeen was arrested when he arrived in Dehiwala from Horowpathana.
According to the police, the suspect is to be detained for 72 hours.
