All Islamic religious education institutes have been requested by the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs to close their respective institutions until further notice.
This decision has been taken in line with the government’s decision to close all schools until the 20th of April, stated the Director of the Department, A. B. M. Ashraff.
Accordingly, all Islamic religious education institutes including Maktabs, Quran Madrasas, Hifl Madrasas, Ahadiya Schools and Arabic colleges with day-scholars are to be closed with immediate effect.
Residential Arabic colleges and Hifl Madrasas may decide to remain open in consultation with the Medical Officer of Health (MOH) of the area.
However, should they remain open, they should adhere to strict preventive health measures as per guidelines of the Ministry of Health, stated the Department.
