According to the Ministry of Finance all the allowances and the pension payments could be made before the 10th of May.
Secretary to the Ministry, S.R. Attygalle said the Treasury holds adequate monetary funds to facilitate this move.
Accordingly, steps will be taken to pay the Samurdhi benefits, allowance granted to senior citizens, physically challenged people and kidney patients in addition to the pension payment before 10th of May.
Secretary to the Ministry further said the salary of public sector officials for the month of May will be paid by the 25th of May as usual.
