47,430 postal voting applications rejected by NEC

47,430 postal voting applications for the 2020 General Election were rejected, said the National Elections Commission.

A spokesperson for the NEC said 753,037 applications for postal voting with respect to the General Election were received and only 750,085 qualified for postal voting.

A majority of those who were selected for postal voting is from the Kurunegala District. (74,611)

The second-highest number of those selected for postal voting is from the Anuradhapura District. (56,438)

The third-highest number of those selected for postal voting is from the Gampaha District. (54,098)
