Communication equipment including 402 brand new iPhones was seized from a house at Eththukala in Negombo today, Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said.
He said 17,400 SIM cards, 60 routers and three laptops were among the items that were seized while three suspects including a Chinese were arrested.
SP Gunasekera said these items were discovered when the Special Task Force (STF) personnel raided a house at Eththukala following a tip-off.
He said the police believed that the suspects were operating an illegal communication centre in the house that was raided.
SP Gunasekara said the CID and TRC officials arrived at the scene to assist in the investigations.
