The Ministry of Health notes that there have been over 3000 confirmed Dengue cases reported so far this year.
Director of the National Dengue Eradication Unit, Specialist Dr. Aruna Jayasekara noted that this figure is lower than the figure which was reported in January 2019.
Dr. Jayasekara noted that the number of dengue cases being reported in the Trincomalee district is on the rise. He added that the task force that has been appointed to curb the spread of the disease is conducting raids in areas across the country.
