2400 complaints have been received regarding various irregularities in the police so far this year, the National Police Commission stated.
51%t of the complaints have been resolved, chairman of the National Police Commission former IGP Chandra Fernando said.
The majority of complaints are with regard to police inaction, impartiality, and abuse of power.
The IGP has instructed to take disciplinary action against the police officers who were found guilty in the complaints, the Chairman stated.
Meanwhile, further complaints could be lodged regarding the activities of the Police Department.
An expeditious program will be prepared to investigate them, further added.
