02 nabbed for promoting LTTE in cyberspace : Police

The Terrorist Investigations Department carried out a special raid in Jaffna on Monday (29) resulting in the arrest of two people.

The raid was carried out to trace a YouTube channel and website that was operating for several months promoting LTTE idealogy and terror activity, said Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana.

He said the YouTube channel and website had operated in a manner to bring disharmony among the people.

TID arrested a man and woman, both in their mid-thirties for operating the office premises of the YouTube channel and website.

Promoting the LTTE is prohibited according to Sri Lankan law, said the Police Spokesperson.
